                                                                                    THE SINNER’S SALVATION

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Dear sinner,

We have some good news and some bad news for you. The bad news is that we are all sinners. We are all in the same sinful condition. It’s not your fault, however, that you are a sinner. You were born that way. It all began with our forefather, Adam:

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

 Now comes the good news.

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many…
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.  Romans 5:15,17

So then, provision has been made to pay for your sins. Christ paid the penalty when he died on the cross. Righteousness is now a gift to you from God the Father. But how do you receive this wonderful gift?

The answer is found in Ephesians 2:8 and 9:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation, then, is a gift of God. It is received the same as any gift. Just reach out and accept it. In this case the gift is forgiveness of your sins through the perfect redemptive work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. It is given by God’s grace and is received by faith without any strings attached. It is not of any works we can perform, lest any man should boast.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved… Acts 16:31
